Trees are planted in prepared fields

The young trees are set out in the fields either by hand, or with the help of a tractor mounted planting machine. They will grow there for eight to twelve years. Despite all the farmers' efforts and depending on numerous variables, especialy weather, a significant percentage will be lost before harvest time.
